SERVICE TARGET
Aged 2 to 6 moderately or severely visually impaired children with or without other disabilities.
SERVICE CHARACTERISTICS
The professional team works in an interdisciplinary approach to provide tailor-made educational programmes to meet the special needs of visually impaired children. Training is conducted with specially designed techniques and equipment, so as to maximize the learning opportunities of our children

SCOPE OF SERVICE
Developmental Assessment: Each child is assessed upon admission and in a regular basis there after by our interdisciplinary team including occupational therapist, physiotherapist, speech therapist, social worker, nurse and special care child worker. It is used to plan for the individualized education programmes for children.Nursing Care Service: Besides assisting in administering medication for the children, our centre nurse also provide nutritious menus for children and advice on general health care.Day Service: The interdisciplinary team of professional staff will plan and implement a holistic learning programme which integrates different rehabilitative and educational elements together. The children will be divided into different groups commensurate with their visual and health conditions.Residential Service: Our residential centre is located in an environment with beautiful natural view. We provide residential care, daily living training skills and health-care service for the visually impaired residents.

REHABILITATION TRAINING
The rehabilitation training plan is to maximize their independence in daily living, to correct deformities and to prevent deterioration of children. The rehabilitation training is included as Low vision training, Pre-braille training, CVI training, Orientation & Mobility training, Physiotherapy Occupational therapy, Speech therapy
SOCIAL ADAPTATION TRAINING
Training takes place outside classroom for experimental learning. Inclusive activities with other childcare centres are organized to enhance the understanding and acceptance of one another.
PARENT SUPPORT
Individual educational meeting, home visits, daily contact and parents’ day are provided to enhance close communication with parents. Also, parents are invited to join the training sessions and activities to enhance the acceptance and understanding in order to facilitate the overall development of their children.
PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICE
Referral is made to the Clinical Psychologist of Social Welfare Department to seek professional advice and consultation on the management of emotional and behavioral problems for children.
RESIDENTIAL SERVICE
Our residential centre is located in an environment with beautiful natural view. We provide residential care, daily living training skills and health-care service for the visually impaired residents.
