心光歷史
「心光」的中文命名取自聖經約翰福音八章12節,意思是耶穌是世界之光,跟從祂的就不在黑暗裡走,並得著世界之光。1912-1953
The construction of Ebenezer Home for Blind Girls' permanent campus on Pokfulam Road was completed in 1913. Hildesheimer Blindenmission continued their missionary work and services for the visually impaired even during World War I. Church Missionary Society and German Mission Trust took on the mission in 1919.
During World War I, girls in Ebenezer moved to Ming Sam School for the Blind in Guangzhou.
After returning to the Pokfulam Campus in 1928, the girls formed a knitting & crochet group. By selling their crafts, they found a new source of income in addition to external funding.
The Government resumed the land in To Kwa Wan for industrial development in 1930 and all blind girls moved to the Pokfulam Campus.
During World War II, the Government took back the Pokfulam Campus and the blind girls moved to Kwu Tung Village in Sheung Shui in 1941. Only 18 girls survived the war, the others died of infectious disease such as lung diseases and malaria. With the help of the Lutheran World Federation, the girls returned to the Pokfulam Campus in 1948.
